Foreign pests, diseases, and exotic species introduced through cross-border trade threaten the wealth of natural resources. These intruders endanger existing species through disease spread and resource competition.
Biosecurity, addressing these concerns, gains attention globally as its significance extends across agriculture, industry, and economies. As sectors grow, skilled personnel will be essential to assess biosecurity threats.
The Master of Agricultural Biosecurity programme is a 42-credit coursework-based degree that offers core courses covering essential topics in the field, such as Advances in Detection and Diagnostics for Biosecurity, Agricultural Biotechnology, Epidemiology of Agricultural Pests and Diseases, Malaysian and International Environmental Policy, and Risk Assessment and Management of Biosecurity. Additionally, students can select three elective courses from various options to tailor their learning experience. The programme will empower students to become leaders in biosecurity, making a meaningful impact on global food security and sustainability.
